I had my doubts that this would work without excruciating pain, but it really did. The odor (as you would expect) is not pleasant, but won't make you gag, either. For me, I did need to leave it on for the full recommended time and you really do need to scrub it off (to remove all of the hair). But it's a nice way to get those underarm hairs that are difficult to shave.
